Raven's Nest is a three bedroom bungalow located in a ten-acre tea garden close to Kotagiri town in the Nilgiri Hills of Tamil Nadu.
Our rooms are furnished for twin sharing but can be converted into double beds. Each room has a desk, a TV connected to a dish and a color-coordinated bathroom with large mirrors attached to it. An in-house generator maintains continuity of all services during power outages.
Delicious South Indian meals are cooked fresh, to order according to your dietary requirements. Food may be served in the dining room or under the pergola.
What’s in a Name?
Why Raven’s Nest? We named the place after our eldest granddaughter: Raven Adara, who lives in Berlin, Germany with her parents. She comes every summer to stay in the house named after her. Look for her picture on the Raven’s Nest facebook page.
Our Efforts at being Eco-friendly
The air in Kotagiri is one of the purest in India, and we, at Raven’s Nest, are committed to being green. We use solar power to heat the water and also for many of the lights in the garden. The grey water is filtered and later waters the lawn. The wet garbage is converted into compost which is used in our garden and in the vegetable patch across the road (Joseph our gardener will be happy to show you the pit). The dry waste is sent to the city dump. One small way in which you can help our efforts is by turning off the lights and heaters when the rooms are not in use. When the weather is cold, or if you would like it, the staff will turn on the room heaters while turning down the beds. We appreciate your cooperation.
